Reports Compilation 1386 Imperium Realmstower

Compilation of the reports over the last year based on reliable accounts of imperium sailors who were able to return to the Realmstower has been completed. Based on various analytics of reports, timepieces, and other components of the reports, it appears the cascade of magical blue fire and related collapse (which was a tragedy not addressed here) arrived at Ravnica at least 3.2 hours before it was experience in Realmspace. Similarly, Greyspace experienced it approximately 5.6 hours after Realmspace was impacted.

The simple conclusion is that the origin was not Toril or even Realmspace, but something beyond Ravnica that was the source, if there was a source in the way we think of things. It questions the assumption that the death of Mystra and destruction of the weave lead to the Spell Plague's emergence.

Further substantiating this the the overall assessment that 10% fewer ships were impacted in Greyspace as in Realmspace, and similarly 10% more ships were impacted in Ravnica than in Realmspace. Though losses were still high in all 3 crystal spheres, the trend would indicate that the effect was losing power as it moved from Ravnica to Realmspace to Greyspace. 

My fellow imperiums, the computationlists, have assured me that this is consistent with the source being a distance point in the Astral sea, well beyond our explored territories. Speculation remains that there was either an occurrence of vast power at this location caused by the impact of the dropped weave or that there was a massive portal from the magical realm of Mystra at this location that bled energy through. I remain unimpressed by the arguments at the moment, and hope to find other

Rules for Flying Creatures in 5E

I'm not one for just throwing my players willy-nilly into something new without an idea of how it would work.  Flying races are on the horizon for one of my games, so here are my clarifications for flying creatures: A flying creatures requires a minimum space of at least 3 times their height in all directions in order to flight. For example, a 6 ft tall flying creature requires a room to be at least 18 ft in all dimensions before they can fly in it. A flying creature can attempt to grapple a creature.  If the the target or grappler are flying, grapple attempts are at disadvantage. Exploiting Weakness in D&D 5e: A Guide for the Evil Plotting GM

I wrote a similar article to this on Pathfinder, and though this is a pretty evil topic, it has been of use to a lot of folks out there.  So, now, I think, is the time to start a similar article for D&D 5e.  This will be a living document to be updated with suggestions and more information as I find better methods. In general, 5e is a lot more challenging for a GM, because the classes are reasonably balanced and because the game mechanics don't have a lot of scale over the 20 levels. Here's a general list of things to increase the difficulty for the party: Increase the number of foes and the CR (ignore the book CR system if it isn't offering a challenge) Spells against the PCs low saves.  A high level sleep spell, for example, could take out a party with no elves.
